A Catholic tradition for the wake and funeral Mass
Funeral prayer cards, often called holy cards or memorial cards, are handed to mourners at the wake or after the funeral Mass. Families keep them in a missal, a Bible, or a wallet and pray for the deceased when they come across the card, sometimes for decades.
Our cards put your loved one’s photo, name, and dates on the front and a prayer on the back. The Hail Mary, the Our Father, and Psalm 23 are built in; any other prayer can be added as custom text.
Catholic prayers for funeral cards
Traditional prayers families most often choose. Change “her” to “him” as needed. Longer prayers fit in a smaller type size, and the preview shows you exactly how they sit.
Eternal Rest (Requiem)
- Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Hail Mary (built in)

Prayer card or Mass card?
They are different. A Mass card is arranged through a parish: a Mass is offered for the deceased and the card tells the family. A funeral prayer card is a keepsake the family gives to mourners. We print prayer cards; for a Mass card, contact your parish office.
